Mike Pence Visits Henderson

Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence is headed to Henderson for a campaign rally.

The Indiana governor is set to hold a town hall-style event at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Henderson Convention Center.

Progressive groups planned to protest the rally. The environment-focused advocacy group Next Gen Climate said it would join other groups in a demonstration at the convention center.

Hillary Clinton's campaign also announced a series of phone bank events to coincide with the visit.

This is the second time Trump's running mate has visited Nevada this month. Pence headlined campaign rallies in Carson City and Reno on Aug. 1.

Trump himself is scheduled to attend a fundraiser at Lake Tahoe at the end of August.
