Las Vegas Weighs City Code Change For Pedal Bus Operations

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Operators of Las Vegas pedal bus tours that allow visitors to bike between bars could expand their business if a city ordinance goes through.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the City Council will weigh a proposed change that provides for business licensing regulations for pedal buses and pedicabs in the coming weeks.

Proprietors such as Russell Davis, who runs Vegas Pub Crawler pedal bus, say they would feel more confident about investing in their business.

A Vegas Pub Crawler tour allows up to 15 or 20 people, guided by a driver, to pedal to different downtown watering holes.

The tours are considered special events by the city.

The proposal would also increase the potential for pedicab companies to operate in the city.

But horse-drawn carriages would be eliminated.
