Blue Cut Fire: More Than 300 Buildings Destroyed

The Blue Cut wildfire in San Bernardino has destroyed more than 300 buildings, with a third of them being homes.

The Los Angeles Times reports 37,000 acres of land in Southern California have been scorched so far.

The fire has progressed nearer to the community of Wrightwood, a resort area in the mountains.

However, progress on the blaze has come.

This morning, officials said 26 percent of the fire was under control, up four percent from the day before.

The 15 through Cajon Pass reopened after days of closure because of the fire, and some of the residents who were under mandatory evacuation orders have been allowed to return home.

However, California Highway 138 through the fire zone remains closed, according to Caltrans.
