Fine Against CG Technologies To Be Approved

Nevada regulators are expected to approve a settlement with one of the state's largest sports book operators, which has admitted to underpaying winning bets.

The settlement before the Nevada Gaming Commission on Thursday will fine CG Technology $1.5 million for miscalculations on its computerized betting system.

The Las Vegas company previously known as Cantor Gaming was cited by the Nevada Gaming Control Board in May for underpaying winners by $700,000, accepting bets after a match and knowingly withholding information.

CG Technology will also remove its CEO, create an escrow account to pay out any remaining claims from bettors who were shorted and subject its systems to independent compliance reviews.

The company running the sports books at the Cosmopolitan, Venetian and Tropicana casinos on the Strip couldn't be reached for comment.
