University Of Phoenix To Open Innovation Center In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The University of Phoenix is planning to open an innovation center in downtown Las Vegas that will offer hands-on learning to visitors.

The school said in a statement Tuesday that the RedFlint Innovation Experience Center will provide an experiential environment for individuals, startups and established businesses.

University of Phoenix officials added that RedFlint will address issues of stagnation inside established businesses and limited resources for startup ventures.

The school will collaborate with Iron Yard Ventures to provide a business accelerator, but does not see itself as competing with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Leith Martin, executive director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at UNLV's Lee Business School, says the RedFlint Innovation Experience Center will complement UNLV's Center for Entrepreneurship.
