Tarkanian Angered Over Group Running Ads Against Him

Southern Nevada congressional candidate Danny Tarkanian says a group that's spending nearly $1.6 million to defeat him and help his opponent isn't properly disclosing its donors.

Tarkanian's campaign said they submitted a complaint to the Federal Election Commission on Friday about Ending Spending Inc.

The group affiliated with Wyoming billionaire Joe Ricketts reported spending about half a million dollars for ads supporting Republican Michael Roberson and about a million dollars opposing his primary rivals, Tarkanian and Michele Fiore.

Ending Spending Inc. is a 501(C)4 organization, and the campaign says it must disclose major donors because it's supporting broadcast ads featuring federal candidates so close to the primary election.

Representatives from Ending Spending didn't respond to messages seeking comment.

The move is unlikely to force disclosure before Election Day on Tuesday.
