Station Casinos Spars With Reno Restaurant Over Name

A Reno restaurant has found itself at odds with a Las Vegas casino over its name, which the casino's attorneys say constitutes trademark infringement.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that Ken and Esmeralda Long opened a steak and seafood spot in Reno last year and called it Feast. The couple said they received a letter from Palace Station Hotel Casino in Las Vegas about three months ago alleging unfair competition and trademark infringement.

Station Casinos Inc. registered two trademarks for its Feast Buffet in January 2009.

It's standard practice for trademark holders to send cease-and-desist letters, but Long argues that it's unlikely that anyone will confuse his establishment with a Las Vegas buffet.

The casino company didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
