NV Dept. Of Conservation Investigating Alleged Dumping

The Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is investigating a video that appears to show employees of a Lyon County foundry dumping some kind of waste onto the ground.

Environmental Protection Division Director Leo Drozdoff said Wednesday that the department became aware of the video after it was posted on the user-powered news and discussion site Reddit by someone claiming to be one of the company's employees.

The video shows Production Pattern and Foundry employees dumping several barrels of sludge on the ground other barrels with burned remains in the bottom.

Foundry spokesman Craig Banko says the video comes as a shock and that dumping is not their policy. He says the company is cooperating with the investigation and that samples of the shown area are being tested.
