Las Vegas Chamber Group Hosting Congress At Capitol Hill Event

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas-area business representatives are in Washington, D.C., this week, seeking congressional support for projects including an Interstate 11 link to Phoenix and federal funds for security on the Strip.

A Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce delegation of almost 50 business leaders, elected officials and advisers planned to host a Tuesday reception dubbed Vegas Night on Capitol Hill.

Chamber spokeswoman Cara Clarke says more than 500 people attended last year.

Clarke says the chamber group is also focusing on water policy in the West and seeking backing for programs to streamline visa processing for international business travelers.

Nevada's six congressional representatives are expected to meet with the chamber delegates, who planned to meet with national experts about cyber security, gaming policy, the EB-5 immigrant investor program and taxes.
