Southern Nevada Republican congressional candidate Danny Tarkanian's campaign is asking TV stations to pull an ad from his primary opponent Michael Roberson.
The commercials attack Tarkanian's involvement in a telemarketing scheme and his work as a registered agent for a company whose director was convicted of defrauding elderly victims.
The letter that Tarkanian's lawyers sent to stations on Tuesday argues that the same claims were the subject of a defamation lawsuit that Tarkanian won against an opponent in a prior run for office.
The letter, first reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, is a request but can't force stations to pull the ad.
Roberson campaign official Jeremy Hughes says Tarkanian's work relationship with a company that got in trouble with the law is an indisputable fact.
Election Day is Tuesday.
