After Primaries, Sights Shift To Nevada Senate Race

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The race to replace Democratic Sen. Harry Reid is taking center stage after Rep. Joe Heck and Catherine Cortez Masto won their Nevada primaries.

Republican Heck and Democrat Cortez Masto easily shook off their primary opponents on Tuesday and can now set their sights on winning a race that could determine whether Democrats or Republicans hold the majority in the U.S. Senate.

Two competitive congressional primaries grabbed headlines during the primary season. Those ended when state Sen. Ruben Kihuen won a Democratic primary for the 4th Congressional District against Lucy Flores and Susie Lee.
