Klaich Stepping Down As Higher Ed Chancellor

Nevada System of Higher Education Chancellor Dan Klaich is stepping down.

The Las Vegas Sun reports Klaich will tender his resignation at a Board of Regents meeting today.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal says the arrangement isn’t a resignation, but a retirement deal the board is offering to Klaich.

The change is proposed to take effect at the end of this month, but the Sun says he’ll still be paid through the end of his contract in June 2017.

The split comes after Klaich was accused of misleading state officials in their attempts to restructure school funding.
