Elko Breaks Rainfall Record

The recent rainfall across much of Nevada has already broken records in Elko.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports rainfall on Friday was the largest on that date in history, with just under half an inch recorded.

That rainfall puts Elko at around 10.5 inches of rain since October.
On average, the area receives only 10 inches of rain over the course of an entire year.

Casey Morell is the coordinating producer of Nevada Public Radio's flagship broadcast State of Nevada and one of the station's midday newscast announcers. (He's also been interviewed by Jimmy Fallon, whatever that's worth.)
