Not everybody is looking forward to the idea of the Riviera being imploded along the Las Vegas Strip.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports a petition has been started to prevent the Riv's demolition on the grounds of historical preservation.
It's unclear whether the petition would have any legal standing, since it is a private group – the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority – that owns the Riv, but demolition is set to be completed by the end of this year at the latest for upcoming conventions.
