Penn National Reports Higher Earnings

Penn National Gaming, the company that owns the Tropicana resort on the Las Vegas Strip, reported higher earnings this quarter than compared to this time last year.

Vegas Inc. reports the company reported earnings of 26 cents per share, up 2 cents from the first three months of 2015.

Revenue and earnings were also up for the Tropicana's parent.

Revenue climbed nearly 14 percent from this time last year to around $757 million.

Earnings were up almost twelvefold to a shade under $24 million.

Penn National is planning to open a casino in Southern California later this year as well.
