Challenge To Utah's Ban On Polygamous Marriages Dismissed

A challenge to Utah's ban on polygamous marriages has been rejected on technical grounds by a federal appeals court.

Politico reports the challenge, brought forward by "Sister Wives" television personalities Kody Brown and his wives, was dismissed by the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

The court said Brown and his wives were not under legal threat because the prosecutor involved in their case issued a directive stating cases would not be prosecuted unless deception was involved, or some other crime was part of the situation.

Because of that, the court said "there is no reasonable expectation the Browns will face prosecution."
