Two NV Lawmakers Hope To Fix In-State College Credit Transfer Issues

Two Nevada lawmakers are working on a case they think will fix problems with Nevada’s community colleges and universities.

The Las Vegas Sun reports Republican Assemblymen David Gardner and Stephen Silberkraus say in the next legislative session, they seek to update Nevada colleges’ funding formula and make it easier for students to transfer credits from one school to another.

Faculty and staff at state institutions say under the current system, students transferring to UNLV or UNR often lose credits earned at community colleges.
