Electrical Odor Diverts Allegiant Flight To Elko

ELKO, Nev. (AP) — An Allegiant Air flight traveling from Mesa, Arizona to Bellingham, Washington was diverted to a Nevada airport after an electrical odor was detected inside the plane.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports that Allegiant spokeswoman Kim Schaefer says Flight 170 landed safely at the Elko Regional Airport around 4:15 p.m. Monday. There were 147 passengers and six crew members on board the Airbus 320 aircraft. No injuries have been reported.

Airport Director Mark Gibbs says the plane was diverted as a precautionary measure after the pilots reported "a general alarm" with the plane.
