More Nevadans registered for health insurance through the state's exchange than in years past.
In a statement released today, the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange reported more than 88,000 Nevadans signed up for healthcare coverage during the most recent open enrollment session, which ran from November 1 to February 1.
The number of new registrants was up more than 20 percent as compared to last year.
The exchange also said Nevada had a higher rate of growth in enrollment in the last week of open enrollment than any other state.
The federal Department of Health and Human Services said more than 62,000 people in Las Vegas enrolled in healthcare coverage during the open enrollment period, and that Las Vegas was one of the top ten cities in the country for increased enrollment figures in the last week of open enrollment.
HHS also said Nevada had the fifth-highest increase in enrollment between last year's open enrollment period and this year's.
