LAS VEGAS (AP) — A hazardous materials team determined that a liquid found in an unoccupied room at a Las Vegas Strip resort isn't dangerous, and guests are being allowed to return.
Police Officer Jesse Roybal wouldn't tell reporters what the liquid was, but he says it was found not to be a threat.
No injuries were reported after Deputy Clark County Fire Chief Jeff Buchanan said guests were evacuated from the 27th, 28th and 29th floors of the 30-story Luxor hotel pyramid.
Hotel spokeswoman Yvette Monet says a room attendant found the substance and notified hotel officials.
Police Officer Laura Meltzer says police were notified a little after 11 a.m., and Buchanan says firefighters were summoned shortly before noon.
Monet says about 54 guests were evacuated.
The Luxor has about 4,400 rooms in three towers.
