Some Mesquite 911 Calls Routed To Las Vegas

Due to issues with a technical upgrade, some emergency services callers in Mesquite are being rerouted to dispatchers in Las Vegas for the time being.

The St. George Spectrum reports 911 calls made on AT&T and T-Mobile cell phones to 911 in Mesquite are being sent to Las Vegas, instead of being handled in Mesquite itself.

Emergency officials in Mesquite are recommending any callers to 911 there make it known they are in Mesquite as soon as possible, so calls can then be re-routed back to the Mesquite emergency dispatch center with all pertinent information.

Officials say the cell phone providers in question are aware of the issue and are working on a fix, but it is unknown when service will be back to normal.
