MGM Says Mandalay Bay Convention Center Expansion Finished

MGM Resorts says it has finished its expansion of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

Vegas Inc. reports that the company announced that with the $70 million project complete, the center has more than 2 million square feet of space including more than 900,000 square feet of exhibit space.

The project was part of a multiyear project to upgrade the center and the Mandalay Bay resort. MGM says it's $100 million redesign of the resort's guest rooms is slated to be completed next month.

The expansion comes as the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is working to expand the Las Vegas Convention Center to the Strip from 3.1 million square feet of space to 5 million square feet.
