Las Vegas Official Proposes Rooftop Solar Financing Plan Regardless Of PUC Decision

Las Vegas Mayor Pro Tem Steve Ross hopes his new financing plan will encourage residents to continue to install rooftop solar regardless of the Nevada Public Utilities Commission’s recent net metering price hike.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Ross proposed the plan yesterday.

Ross says he’s been working on the plan for years, but the PUC's move was the push he needed to bring it forward.

Under Ross’s plan, homeowners could choose to pay off solar panel installation costs over several years. Loans would be attached to properties rather than owners.
