Cost Of Faraday Special Session Is Larger Than That For Tesla

The bill for holding a four-day special legislative session last month to lure carmaker Faraday Future to Nevada is larger than one to clear tax breaks for Tesla.

Nevada Legislative Counsel Bureau Director Rick Combs tells the Nevada Appeal that costs so far have amounted to $227,000. He expects the total to be about $250,000 when printing costs and all travel reimbursements are paid.

The session cost nearly twice as much as a two-day special session in 2014 for Tesla.

The recent session lasted longer even though Faraday's incentive package was much smaller. Concerns about water use and bond financing drew out the session.

Lawmakers approved $215 million in tax breaks for Faraday and authorized $120 million in infrastructure improvements at the Apex Industrial Park in North Las Vegas.
