Citing PUC Ruling, Solar Company Closes Office In Henderson

Premier Solar Solutions has announced it has closed its Henderson office, joining a growing number of residential rooftop solar companies downsizing in Nevada in the wake of bill increases for solar customers.

The Las Vegas Sun reports (http://bit.ly/1PsWTqK ) that the company announced it has laid off 66 employees and is moving to a state with more favorable policies. A receptionist answering Premier's Las Vegas phone number identified the business as "Arizona Solar Solutions."

The move comes after the Public Utilities Commission decided to increase NV Energy bills for rooftop solar customers.

National solar companies SolarCity and Sunrun cited that decision when they both halted sales in Nevada, laying off more than 650 employees.

Premier Solar had worked with Sunrun.
