Amodei Faces Democratic Challenger In CD-2

A liberal talk radio host and former chairman of the Washoe County Democratic Party has announced his candidacy for a Nevada congressional seat that no Democrat has ever held.

Chip Evans formally announced his plans in Reno Tuesday to challenge 2nd District Republican Mark Amodei. He filed his candidacy papers on Saturday with the Federal Election Commission.

Republicans have held the largely rural district covering more than half of Nevada since it was created in 1982.
