St. George Upholds Ordinances Prohibiting Short-Term Rentals

The city of St. George has decided to continue its ban on short-term rentals of properties, effectively closing the city to services like Airbnb.

The St. George Spectrum reports existing city code prohibited the short-term renting of property in areas zoned for residential use.

Yesterday, Mayor Jon Pike announced that, following lengthy discussions in city government, St. George would not only continue to have such ordinances on the books, but would seek to enforce them.

While the ordinances were under discussion earlier in the year, code enforcement did not seek to enforce them, the Spectrum reports.
