Kihuen Wins Union Endorsement

State Senator Ruben Kihuen has picked up an endorsement in his bid for a seat in Nevada's fourth congressional district.

The Service Employees International Union Local 1107 announced Wednesday it was backing Kihuen's bid to unseat freshman Republican Representative Cresent Hardy.

The union represents workers across the state, including some public workers for Clark County and employees at hospitals throughout Nevada.

In its endorsement, the union cited Kihuen's advocacy for working families as well as his efforts in the 2015 legislative session to increase wages as reasons for their support.

Kihuen faces former state assemblywoman Lucy Flores, philanthropist Susie Lee, and former state assembly speaker John Oceguera in the Democratic primary.
