Dixie State Asks Public For Input On New Mascot, Nickname

Dixie State University in St. George is seeking public feedback on a potential new mascot.

The St. George Spectrum reports the survey, which has six different options for mascots and nicknames for the university, was released Tuesday.

Earlier in the year, Dixie State University president Richard "Biff" Williams decided the university needed a new mascot as part of a strategic initiative in the school's master plan.

Currently, Dixie State's mascot is Big "D" the Bull, and the university's nickname is the Red Storm.

Those filling out the survey will rank six different options in order of personal preference.

The university is hopeful a new mascot will be introduced by the spring.
