NV Energy's first owned and operated utility-scale solar farm has gone online at Nellis Air Force Base.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the farm, which can generate up to 15 megawatts of electricity, began operating Wednesday.
Construction on the farm began in March.

A second solar farm on the base generates a little bit less electricity than the new one, but combined, they both can power Nellis completely during daytime.
