Nevada Unemployment Rate Falls To New 7-Year Low

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada's unemployment rate has fallen to a new seven-year low.

The state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported Wednesday that the jobless rate in October was 6.6 percent, which is the lowest it's been since June 2008.

October marked the 56th straight month that the unemployment rate has declined year-over-year.

Nevada added a seasonally adjusted 6,200 jobs in October, and the number of jobs is up more than 42,000 compared with the same time a year ago.

Gov. Brian Sandoval said 2015 has been a solid year for Nevada's job market, and he said he was committed to helping further diversify the state's economy.
