Nevada Officials Working 'Every Day' To Strike Faraday Deal

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada's top economic development officer says the state is working daily on a potential deal to bring secretive electric car startup Faraday Future to North Las Vegas.

Steve Hill of the Governor's Office of Economic Development acknowledged state officials have been mum for months, but said they continue to be excited about the possibility of attracting the company's proposed $1 billion plant and 4,500 jobs.

Faraday Future announced earlier this month that California, Georgia, Louisiana and Nevada were finalists for the factory, and the company said it would make its selection within weeks. It wants to bring a vehicle to market as early as 2017.

Hill said his team is looking at infrastructure and workforce issues to ensure Nevada meets Faraday's needs, and any agreement is good for Nevada residents.
