Unemployment rates are dropping in Nevada's three main metropolitan areas.

The state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported Tuesday that Las Vegas' jobless rate was 6.8 percent in September. The rate fell to 5.9 percent in the Reno area, and was 6.8 percent in Carson City in September.

Regional unemployment rates are not seasonally adjusted.

The news comes a week after the agency reported that Nevada's overall jobless hit a seven-year low of 6.7 percent. That rate is seasonally adjusted.

Nevada added a seasonally adjusted 34,600 jobs in the past year, for 2.8 percent growth.
