Clark County Fire Department officials say a downed tree near Boulder Highway and Sahara Ave. caused a fire and power outages this morning.
KLAS-TV reports the tree took down wires and caused a transformer to explode.
A homeless camp and single family trailer had to be evacuated because of resulting spot fires.

NV Energy was notified to de-energize the wires and assist.
As of 6:30 a.m., power is out for nearly 1,500 customers.
No injuries have been reported.
