CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The Airport Authority has approved the use of an unmanned aerial vehicle for survey work near Carson City's airport.
The Nevada Appeal reports that the authority voted unanimously Wednesday to authorize Robison Engineering to do drone survey work at gravel pits two miles north of the airport.
The authorization comes with stringent conditions meant to ensure safety and communication. Robison's Nick Breshears says the firm will keep the drone at 200 feet or less. He also says the survey work is only done once a year, so the next work is scheduled for October 2016.
