Wynn Proposes $16M Exit Fee To Leave NV Energy

Wynn Resorts hopes it’s an offer NV Energy and the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada can’t refuse.

Wynn Resorts says it’s willing to pay $15 million to end its business relationship with NV Energy.

The catch is, Wynn’s offer is about $2 million less than a PUC August estimate.

Known as an exit fee, the money compensates NV Energy for revenues lost.

Wynn Resorts says their efforts to leave are not about switching to solar power producers.

But, instead the gaming company wants to capitalize on low natural gas prices.
