MGM Resorts Faces Lawsuit From Former Wellness Vendor

All is not well at MGM Resorts according to a federal lawsuit from a wellness coach firm that says the casino company breached its contract to hire a cheaper vendor that attempted to steal away its coaches and trade secrets.

Wellness Coaches USA had 22 health coaches working with MGM Resorts employees in Las Vegas, Detroit and Mississippi casino-hotels when its contract was ended in June effective Sept. 1.

Wellness Coaches' contract began in October 2010.

MGM Resorts' attorney Todd Bice says in court documents the casino company ended its contract with Wellness Coaches because its business was outdated and it could save $500,000 annually hiring Life Time Fitness Inc.

Life Time Fitness Inc. says it didn't steal away any coaches and didn't seek any confidential information or trade secrets.
