SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — The old Silver Club hotel and casino on Sparks' Victorian Square are being partially demolished and rebuilt to house 100 loft-style apartments, retail and office space.
The $25 million project was formally unveiled at a ground-breaking ceremony Monday outside the shuttered casino most recently operated as the Bourbon Square Casino.
Developers say the six-story apartment complex called "C Street Lofts," will include studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging from $750 to $1,100.
The former casino, which will be renamed "The Yard," is being gutted to make room for a mix of restaurants and retail on the ground floor and office space on the upper two floors.
Steven Hinckley, CEO of LandCAp Investment Partners leading the project with GreenStreet Communities, expects to begin renting apartments next summer with commercial tenants following by the end of next year.
