RENO, Nev. (AP) — Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders told an enthusiastic crowd at the University of Nevada his call for political revolution is gaining momentum but he'll need their help to overcome his opponents' huge fundraising advantages.
More than 4,000 people waved placards Tuesday night and chanted "Bernie, Bernie" outside the student union on the Reno campus.
Sanders didn't mention Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton during an hour-long speech.
The Vermont senator said he's running against candidates who receive most of their money from super PACs funded by millionaires and billionaires. He says he doesn't want the political establishment's money.
Sanders got the loudest response when he said he'd tax Wall Street speculators $70 billion annually to make tuition free at every public college and university in the country.
