LAS VEGAS (AP) — President Barack Obama will be the keynote speaker at a Las Vegas summit on clean energy later this month.
Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said in a news release Saturday that the president is scheduled to deliver remarks at the National Clean Energy Summit on Aug. 24.
Reid says he is thrilled to welcome Obama's participation and the president's record on clean energy stands above all others.
Obama is expected to speak with clean energy advocates on issues such as securing greater energy independence and creating jobs through renewable energy initiatives.
Now in its eighth year, the summit brings together public officials, renewable energy supporters, business leaders and students to discuss clean energy.
It will be held at the Mandalay Bay Resort Convention Center.
