Arbitrator Sides With Clark County In Dispute With Union

A dispute between Clark County and the Service Employees International Union Local 1107 has ended in the county's favor.

An arbitrator's ruling means all new members of the union, which represents roughly 5,000 county employees, will not be subject to longevity pay, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

Current employees, though, will maintain their pay.

The county says it will save some $264 million over the next 30 years by not offering longevity pay.

The union did win one concession, though – employees will get a 4.5 percent cost of living adjustment in their salaries over the next two years.
