Reno Opens Homeless Overflow Shelter

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno officials are bringing illegal campers along the Truckee River to an overflow shelter as community action officers with the police department start issuing citations.

The Reno Gazette Journal reports officers have been educating people ahead of the 100-bed shelter's June 26 opening and referring them to the Community Assistance Center.

People can add their names to a list and receive transportation to the facility.
