Las Vegas police say an officer was injured by gunfire and another person has been shot and killed.
According to the Las Vegas Sun, the officer was grazed in the neck and the suspect was killed in the shooting that followed a traffic stop.
The shooting happened about 9:40 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Lindell Road.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sgt. John Sheahan told the Sun that two officers stopped a Jeep Grand Cherokee and as they walked up to the SUV, a person in the Jeep started shooting.
One of the officers returned fire, shooting and killing a suspect.
The injured officer was taken to University Medical Center and is expected to make a full recovery, according to Metro.
