Penn National Makes Staffing Shift To Las Vegas Leadership

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Penn National Gaming says its Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway general manager will take over the company's Las Vegas operations which include the M Resort in Henderson, Nevada and the Tropicana Las Vegas once the company's $360 million purchase of the Strip hotel is final.

The company announced Wednesday that Bob Sheldon starts July 6 pending regulatory approvals and will report to Penn National's chief operating officer.

Penn National says Sheldon got his start at the Las Vegas Hilton and was president of the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas.

The company says the M Resort's president and general manager Anthony Marnell will take on a consulting role with Penn National.

Marnell with Marnell Corrao Associates opened M Resort in 2009. Penn National bought it in 2011.
