Closure Of I-15 Lanes South Of Primm Scheduled

LAS VEGAS (AP) — California transportation officials say they're planning to close southbound traffic on Interstate 15 for three hours early next Wednesday at the Nevada-California state line for an overhead sign installation project.

Caltrans says vehicles heading from the Las Vegas to Los Angeles areas will be held from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. June 17 at the Nevada resort town of Primm.

Officials say there's no viable detour around the I-15 closure, but parking, food and restroom facilities are available at Primm.

The new signs are part of a $40 million project to build a new California Highway Patrol commercial vehicle inspection facility just south of Yates Well Road.

Caltrans is telling truckers and travelers to plan ahead, bring water and ensure that vehicles are in good running condition.
