CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A Nevada assemblywoman says she'll continue fighting for a hotly debated measure that would allow concealed weapon permit holders to bring guns onto college campuses.
Republican Assemblywoman Michele Fiore says she'll continue to lead the charge for the so-called "campus carry" bill, AB148, even if it doesn't receive a hearing by Friday's bill passage deadline.
The measure would allow permit holders to carry concealed guns on college campuses and store firearms in locked cars.
The measure hasn't been scheduled for a hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee after passing out of the Assembly on a 24-15 vote in April. Committee chairman Sen. Greg Brower said he doesn't think the measure has enough support to pass the Senate.
Fiore said she'd considered amending the bill language into another firearms-related bill.
