Ironman Event to Stay in Southern Utah through 2020

ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — One of southern Utah's signature sporting events is staying put through at least 2020.

The Spectrum newspaper of St. George reports local officials finalized agreements this week to extend their contract to host the Ironman North American Pro Championship half-marathon for the next five years.

The Ironman 70.3 St. George has provided a major economic boost to southern Utah since it moved there in 2010, drawing 2,800 athletes and 7,700 total visitors last year.
