Nevada’s Department of Motor Vehicles needs 75 more employees starting July 1 to deal with long lines of customers Director Troy Dillard told a legislative budget subcommittee today.
He said four offices in Las Vegas and one in Reno have been particularly inundated, with people sometimes waiting up to five hours for service.
The offices can serve 100 customers an hour, but can have as many as 500 people waiting to be helped, he said.

He said that issuing driver authorization card for residents of Nevada who are not in the country legally was a new duty that came without an increase in employees.
