4 Nominated For 2 State Court Vacancies In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Three lawyers and a federal prosecutor have been named as finalists for two Clark County District Court vacancies in Las Vegas.

The Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection announced Wednesday that attorney Joseph Paul Hardy Jr. and Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Johnson are being recommended to Gov. Brian Sandoval as possible appointees to either seat.

Attorney Mary Chapman is nominated for the seat formerly held by Nevada Court of Appeals Judge Abbi Silver and attorney Karl Armstrong is nominated for Appeals Court Judge Jerome Tao's former seat.

Three finalists were nominated last month for Appeals Court Chief Judge Michael Patrick Gibbons' former seat on the Ninth Judicial District seat in Minden.

They are Douglas County prosecutor Thomas Gregory, attorney Douglas Rands of Reno, and part-time Carson City judge David Sarnowski.
