Chinatown Plaza will host its annual Chinese New Year celebration on February 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., to mark the Year of the Dog. There will be traditional foods, vendors, a 150-foot long dragon on parade, a Chinese lion dance, kung-fu and martial art demonstrations, music and dance.
Entertainment will be between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for ages 6-12. Those 5 and under are free.
China Lights will illuminate Craig Ranch Regional Park January 19 through February 25, with 40 larger-than-life lantern displays They have more than 1,000 components, with state-of-the-art LEDs and animation created on-site by Chinese artisans. Through February 25.
Wednesdays 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Celebrate the beautiful ballroom dance styles of Scotland including driving reels, jigs, strathspeys or lilting airs. Dancers should wear comfortable clothes and soft shoes. Ages 13+ only. $5. Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St.
